I was looking for people that have used the new Brother Embroidery Machine Border hoop and upgraded software.?
This is for the Duetta 4500 machine and upgrades your machine to 4.1 version. Do you enjoy using this hoop and was it worth the money for you? Thanks in advance.
Carolyn - no I don't think it is worth it. You really don't get a 5x7 clamp hoop. It is more of a 4x6 sewing field and is only good if you are using narrow fabric. Not large pieces. The applique feature doesn't work as advertised, it is more of a "patch". I liked the first one, but not this one. There have also been more problems with tension and thread trims with this 4.1 upgrade. I work for a brother dealer and have voiced my concerns. I know lots of people who wish they could uninstall this upgrade. Hope this helps.

I have a Babylock Elegante 2 machine & have the new border hoop & upgraded s/ware & love it. I make a lot of lace & this hoop is perfect for this-just make a few yards at a time. I also make border designs on shirts, etc. for the g/children & find the hoop very easy to use. Brother & B/lock are almost identical in their software, etc. so it is very easy to use once you get the hang of it. I think it’s well worth the price if you are doing lots of orders.
