Take it to a reputable repair shop for cleaning and adjustment. The blade may be out of alignment. It doesn’t hurt to have these machines professionally cleaned. Sure saves a lot of aggravation.

it could be a range of different things really but if your thread isnt cutting it does sound like a problem with the blade and for the threading the hook that goes direcly through the needle may be slighlty bent stopping the threading or another problem for the threading if u have recently changed the needle make sure it is inserted correctly……..some dealers can arrange a pick up and drop off for a small charge hope this helps
