Does Brother sewing machines require Brother thread ?

I see from product reviews that some folks are having trouble with bobbin thread tangling on Brother sewing/embroidery machines. Is is because they require special thread for the bobbin ?

No. Generally it either means that they put the bobbin in incorrectly or that there's something wrong with the hook system of the machine. Using good quality thread will help prevent problems and prolong the life of your machine, but it doesn't have to be Brother thread.

No. Like any machine you can practically use any size or kind of thread. It sounds like maybe the bobbin is in backward or the wrong size thread is being used with the needle. Also if you are using a thick thread the bobbin needs to be adjusted as well as the tention. The owners manual should have that information. Most fabric stores also can provide the info. Good Luck and Happy sewing.
