Buying an Embroidery Machine
Purchasing an embroidery machine will create a lot of difference for your embroidery creations. Before you drive to the department store, prepare a few pieces of old clothes that you can bring during your trip. You will need these fabrics so that you can test your prospective machine. It is very important that you test the machines personally and not the salesclerk because in the end you are the person who will use the machine and you should have a hands-on experience before signing any sales slip.
In the store, do not be afraid to talk to the salesclerk. They are well-trained and knowledgeable about embroidery machines and they are most willing to help. You should make clear your purpose why you need a machine. If you want to buy a replacement for your old ones, say it so that you can know more about the new models.
Although, a salesclerk can provide you with valuable information, some of them might lead you to machines that are expensive. More price, more commission. If you cannot afford the machine that is being recommended, say it. Ask for machines that will fall on your price range. There are machines available that are not very expensive, yet they offer quality functions. It is normal that in the end, you may find a machine that is a bit more expensive than you estimated, but this doesn't mean that you need to get the most expensive one.
In choosing a machine, let the sales clerk demonstrate how the machine works. Allow them to have a product demo. However, do not hesitate to ask questions about any features and product information that you are interested in. Once you are ready to try it on your own, ask permission from the sales clerk. Of course they will allow you, but be very careful in handling because once you damage the machine it's your fault; you need to pay for it.

After you have a good hands-on experience with the machine, ask other questions that you have in mind. Don't hesitate to ask as it is normal. It is your money that you are spending and it is always wise to get your money's worth. Most embroidery machines are expensive and you need to be very wise in finding one.
Lastly, you should not be fooled by brand names. Although most of famous brands sell products of high quality, there are also available machines that are good that you can choose from.
