Anyone else not able to make Husqvarna 4D embroidery software “send to the machine” using Windows 7?
Question by Biteme Spanky: Anyone else not able to make Husqvarna 4D embroidery software "send to the machine" using Windows 7?
Does anyone have a solution to this problem? If you are able to send to the machine from 4D running on Windows 7, did you have to download anything to make it work? If so, where did you find it? Thanks for any info.
The software installed just fine, the dongle drivers are working fine, and I have no trouble using the software. However, I can no longer send to the machine (Designer SE). I've been using Husqvarna embroidery software for 10 years with different machines and different operating systems, and this is a first. I usually have driver problems with the dongle when I upgrade, not the machine communication.
I have re-installed the machine communication software about 8 times. I have searched for new drivers and software updates and nothing. I have done a "Smart Update" and contacted Husqvarna tech support over 10 times in two months. They keep telling me to install the 64 bit drivers for Windows Vista, but when I try that, I get an error message which tells me I'm not running Vista. No kidding. When I told customer service about the message, they just said, "Install it anyway". Umm, how? It gives me an error message and then goes back to the main menu. When I asked them where I could get drivers for Windows 7, they said the driver for Vista "should" work. But...their software won't let me load it. As usual, their customer service is non-existent.
Help!
@tmclone - I just tried your suggestion and no joy. Thanks anyway - at least it was something I hadn't tried yet!

Ugh! I just went through this same thing last month. And yeah, their "customer service" is a total joke. They were NO HELP at all, like always. The only thing that worked for me was to change the compatibility for EVERY program to Windows XP. It took quite awhile since this lousy software is not simply one application but over 25 .exe applications cobbled together. Maybe "Husqvarna" is Swedish for "World's Worst Software". If I had it to do over again I would have bought ANY other brand instead. Oh well, too late now.
Hope my solution works for you...
